Background Information to today's lesson: In the previous lesson, we saw the birth of the Christian church as God gave His Holy Spirit to empower Jesus’s followers. As they joyfully told the story of Jesus, thousands in Jerusalem believed. Then, by the power of God’s Spirit, and in the Name of Jesus, Peter healed a lame beggar at the entrance to the Temple. This caused so much disturbance in the city that the Jewish leaders ordered the Temple guards to arrest Peter, and John.
