Watch and Discuss: Scene 4 (7:46-12:46)

Read the introduction and ask about anything you do not understand.
Introduction:
At the time of Jesus, Jewish land, Jewish people and the Jewish nation were under Roman rule. The Roman governor was Pontius Pilate, and he taxed the people heavily, and crushed any resistance to Roman rule. The people were poor and oppressed and waited and hoped for God to send the promised great king who would rescue them from the Romans and rebuild their nation.

As you watch, take notes and be prepared to answer the following questions after you watch the video:

  1. Describe the kinds of landscape you saw in the video. (E.g. Mountains, lakes, rivers)
  2. What was Jesus holding in his hand before he spoke to Peter?
  3. Where was Peter when he first met Jesus? What was his job?
  4. What colour was Jesus’s cloak, and Peter’s?
  5. How did Jesus get into Peter’s boat?
  6. What happened after Jesus put his hand in the water?
  7. What offer did Jesus make to Peter?
